Carol Powell: Time to Make the Donuts
The series, titled after the 1980s cult-classic Dunkin Donuts ad campaign, parodies nostalgic advertising from the 1950s-1980s replacing the products advertised with donuts. Intricately hand-threaded embroideries accompanied by drawings and plush sculptures. A touch of punk ethos is sprinkled into the works as many of their titles reference punk songs.
